Easy Style Points: The Tie Bar

In addition to being incredibly useful – keeping one’s tie out of one’s lunch – the tie bar (also tie clip) is another visual element that is easy to use for grabbing low-hanging style points. With suits, tie bars add a bit of shine and create a visual connection between the tie and jacket. They also have a way of making a loosened tie and unbuttoned collar look much more measured and much less sloppy.

Easy Style Points: Sunglasses

The point here is simply not looking like a professional bass fisherman, NASCAR driver, or an avid fan of either sport. Sporty glasses are best left to the beach volleyball court, speed skating rink, or baseball diamond, but there are still tons of great options for every-day, around-town shades.

Easy Style Points: Collar Bones

It’s the easiest thing in the world to keep your collars from curling up like shriveled lettuce. Collar bones (collar stays or collar stiffeners) come in a variety of sizes, materials, and price points and are typically more robust than the flimsy plastic ones that come with shirts. There aren’t necessarily bonus style points for after-market collar bones, but there are serious deductions for flimsy or curled collars.
